FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The service, ordering, devices, your connection: here are the answers to the questions we hear most often. Not seeing yours? Write to us.

The service

What is IPTV?

IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) delivers TV through your internet connection instead of an aerial, a satellite dish or cable. Channels and programmes arrive as video streams in an app on your TV, streaming device, phone or computer. All you need is a stable connection and a compatible device. Read our full guide to IPTV.

What is 4K Media TV?

‘4K Media TV’ is the name many people type when they search for our service, 4K Media IPTV. It is an IPTV subscription that gives you live channels and a catalogue of films and series, to watch on Smart TV, Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, smartphone, tablet or computer.

What can I watch with 4K Media IPTV?

Live channels (sport, news, entertainment and international channels), plus films and series on demand. The line-up can change over time, so if you are after a particular programme, ask us before you order. You’ll get a straight answer.

Is everything in 4K?

No. Depending on the channel or programme, the picture is in HD, Full HD or 4K. To watch in 4K, you also need a compatible screen and device, and a connection that can keep up.

Can I share or resell my subscription?

No. Your subscription is for private use, within the number of connections your plan allows. Reselling, rebroadcasting and showing it in a public place are ruled out by our terms of service.

Subscription and ordering

How does ordering work?

Pick a plan length on the pricing page, enter your email address and the device you’ll watch on, then pay for your order. Your access details and the matching setup guide are then sent to you by email.

How does activation work?

Once your payment is confirmed, you’ll receive your access details by email (login details or a playlist link), with instructions for your device. All that’s left is to enter them in the recommended app. If the email is slow to arrive, check your spam folder, then contact support with the email address you used to order.

Does my subscription renew automatically?

No, unless stated otherwise at the time of order. Each plan covers a fixed period of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. When it ends, your access stops, and starting a new period is entirely your call.

Which plan length should I choose?

If IPTV is new to you, the 1-month plan lets you check that everything runs smoothly on your TV and your connection. Longer plans cost less per month, so the 12-month plan works out cheapest if you watch all year round.

Is payment secure?

Payment is handled by a specialised payment provider over an encrypted connection. We never receive or store your card numbers.

Can I watch on more than one screen at a time?

You can install the service on several devices. How many screens you can use at the same time depends on your plan, and you’re told at the time of order.

Can I change my mind after ordering?

If you live in the European Union, you have 14 days to withdraw. If you asked for the service to start before that period ends, you still owe an amount in proportion to the time already provided. The full details are in our terms of service.

Devices and setup

Which devices does 4K Media IPTV work on?

Samsung, LG and other Smart TVs through a compatible app, Android TV and Google TV devices, Amazon Fire TV, Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, and Windows and macOS computers. The compatible devices page has the details.

Do I need a Smart TV?

No. Any TV with an HDMI port will do: plug in a Fire TV, Google TV or Android TV stick or box. You can also watch straight on your phone, tablet or computer.

How do I set up the service?

Install the app named in your activation email from your device’s official app store, then enter the access details you received: the channel list loads by itself. Our setup guide walks you through every step, device by device.

Can I watch on my phone?

Yes, on Android or iOS smartphones and tablets, with a compatible app. Use Wi-Fi when you can: an hour of high-definition video can quickly eat through several gigabytes of mobile data.

Quality and connection

What internet speed do I need?

Allow 3 to 5 Mbps of stable bandwidth for HD, 5 to 10 Mbps for Full HD and 15 to 25 Mbps for 4K. Stability matters as much as raw speed: fibre or VDSL, ideally over an Ethernet cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, gives the most reliable results. More on the speed you need.

What should I do if the picture freezes or stutters?

Run a speed test while the problem is happening, move the device closer to your router or switch to Ethernet, then restart the app and the router. If it carries on, drop us a line with the device and the channel affected. You’ll find more detailed advice in our guide to streaming quality.

What do I need to watch in 4K?

A 4K screen. A device that can decode HEVC (H.265), which most recent 4K Smart TVs, sticks and boxes can. An HDMI port with HDCP 2.2 support if you use an external box. And a stable connection of 15 to 25 Mbps.
