1.Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is the operator of 4kmediaiptv.net, which provides the 4K Media IPTV service (‘we’, ‘us’). The operator's identification details are shown at the top of this page.
If you have any questions about your personal data, email us at 4kmediatvcontact@gmail.com or use our contact form.
2.What data we process
We only collect the data we need for the purposes described in this policy:
- Browsing data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider records technical server logs (IP address, date and time of the request, page requested and browser user agent).
- Contact and order requests: your name, your email address, the plan you have chosen if you tell us, and your message.
- Orders and subscriptions: your identity and contact details, the plan purchased, the status of your order and payment, and the access details issued to you and sent by email.
- Support: the content of the emails you send us and of our replies.
Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number; we only receive the information needed to manage your order, such as confirmation that a payment has succeeded or failed.
Your name, email address and message are needed to deal with your request; telling us your chosen plan is optional. Without this information we cannot reply to you or fulfil your order.
Please do not include sensitive information (such as health data) or bank details in your messages.
3.Why we use your data and on what legal basis
Each use of your data relies on one of the legal bases set out in Article 6(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Answering your questions and contact requests: our legitimate interest in replying to people who get in touch with us (Art. 6(1)(f)) or, where your request concerns an order, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Preparing and fulfilling your order, sending your access details and supporting you during your subscription: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Keeping accounts and meeting our tax and other legal obligations: compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- Running and securing the site and preventing abuse (server logs): our legitimate interest in protecting the site and the service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
4.Who has access to your data
Only the members of our team who need your data to handle your request, order or support query can access it. We also use the following service providers:
- our hosting provider, which stores and serves the site and processes the server logs;
- our email service and, where applicable, the form-processing service that forwards to us the messages sent through the site;
- the payment provider, which processes the data needed for payment under its own terms and privacy policy.
Providers acting on our behalf (processors under the GDPR) may only use your data on our instructions and under a contract that meets the requirements of Article 28 GDPR.
We may also disclose your data to a public authority or court where the law requires us to do so.
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
5.Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of our service providers may be based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or access data from outside it. In that case, data is only transferred with appropriate safeguards in place:
- an adequacy decision of the European Commission recognising that the country concerned offers an adequate level of protection;
- or, failing that, standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission, supplemented by additional measures where necessary.
You can obtain information about these safeguards by writing to us at 4kmediatvcontact@gmail.com.
6.How long we keep your data
We keep your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:
- Contact requests that do not lead to an order: up to 3 years after our last contact.
- Customer data: for the duration of your subscription, then for as long as necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, within the applicable limitation periods.
- Accounting records (such as order and payment records): for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law.
- Server logs: for a limited period, in line with the hosting provider's practices.
- Support emails: for the period that applies to your situation (enquiry without an order, or customer).
At the end of these periods, the data is deleted or anonymised.
7.Keeping your data secure
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access and disclosure, including an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the site, access limited to those who need it, and the use of providers offering sufficient guarantees.
Your access details are personal to you: keep them safe and do not share them with anyone.
8.No automated decision-making or profiling
We do not take any decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, and we do not carry out any profiling.
9.Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your data:
- access: to find out whether we process data about you and to receive a copy of it;
- rectification: to have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed;
- erasure: to have your data deleted, unless we must keep it, for example to comply with a legal obligation;
- restriction: to have the use of your data temporarily put on hold in certain cases;
- portability: to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used format, or to have it sent to another controller, where the processing is based on the contract or on your consent;
- withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, to withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Right to object: where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop processing it unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the data to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
To exercise your rights, email us at 4kmediatvcontact@gmail.com or use our contact form. We will reply within one month of receiving your request. This may be extended by two further months for complex or numerous requests, in which case we will let you know. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you for additional information to confirm it.
If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority in your country, in particular where you live or work.
Users in Switzerland and Canada: if you live in Switzerland, the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) gives you equivalent rights; if you live in Canada, you have comparable rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, provincial legislation. You can exercise them in the same way and contact the competent authority (in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial authority).
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we use new service providers or add new features to the site. The version in force is the one published on this page. If we make a significant change, we will inform you by appropriate means.
